Fashion collection inspired by Edmund Hillary

From Afternoons with Jesse Mulligan, 1:35 pm on 28 August 2018

The rumpled shirt Edmund Hillary wears on the $5 note doesn't suggest the catwalk, but his family is getting ready to debut a range of clothing at New Zealand fashion week.

The collection is inspired by the 1953 Mt Everest expedition and Edmund's grandsons George and Alexander Hillary will be modeling the collection.

Their father Peter Hillary is the co-founder of Edmund Hillary Brands, who created this range. He talks to us about how the collection came together and what features of the original expedition inspired the new collection.
