Te Papa is holding its first art exhibition aimed at children. Curious Creatures & Marvellous Monsters has been curated by Dr Chelsea Nichols who has a PhD from Oxford about monsters in art, and is fascinated by society's ideas of what's normal and what's abnormal. She says kids already use monsters to explain the unknown - under their beds, out in the streets - and so do artists.
