Sedentary preschoolers likely to be obese

In a world first, Otago University researchers have tracked physical activity and sedentary behaviour in preschoolers and then measured body fat once they were five.

They found that less active children had significantly higher excess body fat.Their findings have been published in the International Journal of Obesity.

Researcher Dr Kim Meredith Jones explains to Jesse why toddlers aren't as physically active as they should be and what it means for their health.
