Luke and Tim Burrows' dream to bring plant-based burgers to the masses is coming true with Wise Boys Burgers.

About a year ago, the brothers started selling out of a food truck in Raglan and a vegan burger revolution was born.

Initially, they thought they'd do a spin on the usual meat/vegan ratio and offer one 'token' meat burger, but eventually decided to go completely free of animal products.

Wise Boys came up with their Smoke and Fire Tofu Burgers came from a collaboration with a group of artists for the one-night street food-meets-art event streetARTdego.

They were paired with the AUT digital art collective Hubbub who've created an interactive art piece that tries to find beauty in noise.

This burger is their spin on that idea.

"In terms of vege burgers, the biggest noise out there is tofu or soy based products. We've tried to come up with some beauty in that, as wel'. How do we create something that's not a standard tofu burger but something pretty special that we're proud of?"
