The health benefits of brisk walking

From Afternoons, 1:35 pm on 25 August 2017

Middle aged people need to start walking faster according to public health officials in England - who say the amount of activity people do is tailing off  from the age of 40.

Public Health England estimates that 40 percent of 40 to 60 year olds don't even manage a brisk 10 minute walk once a month! It suggests regular brisk walks - and recommends people join a walking group.

We did some checking, and there are hundreds of walking groups across New Zealand - catering for all age groups

We talk to one of them, walk leader of the Churton park Community Walkers, Paul Alpe.
