Two fossil fuel power plants in Huntly signalled for closure are to remain open until 2022, Genesis Energy, has revealed today. Genesis had previously announced it would close Huntly's two coal-fired rankine units at the end of 2018, but it said a deal with other generators would see them stay open for another four years.
