Doctors confront death. It's part of the job. When a Doctor is diagnosed with cancer, and understands he is going to die, it changes nothing and everything according to Dr Paul Kalanithi. At age 36, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer The fact of death is unsettling he says ,Yet there is no other way to live. In the last months of Dr Kalanithi's life, he shared his perspective on death in a highly acclaimed book, When Breath Becomes Air. Less than two years after diagnosis, he died. Dr Lucy Kalanithi, his widow, finished the manuscript for him.
