The Massey Science Academy - Naomi Manu

From Afternoons, 1:19 pm on 21 December 2015

New Zealand is set to get a new Māori science academy.

The Massey Science Academy – Pūhoro – is the first of its kind, and will open next year. It will work with Māori secondary school pupils from Year 11 through to university and, ultimately, the work force.

Assistant Director of Academies Naomi Manu tells Jesse Mulligan the hope is that engaging Māori students with science in the secondary space will lead to more Māori students taking up tertiary science and mathematics programmes.
