House prices in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland continue to lag behind many other parts of the country

Cotality has released its latest data which shows a 0.1 percent lift in values for New Zealand in November with Hamilton, Tauranga and Christchurch seeing growth

But Auckland has not, in fact November was the eighth month in a row that Auckland's property values had declined

So why isn't Auckland seeing a lift? Cotality chief property economist Kelvin Davidson chats to Jesse.

1:25 How can we ensure our kids are safe playing sport?

We're all aware of the benefits of children playing sport; learning to work as part of a team, increasing fitness, developing self-confidence, the list goes on.

But these benefits can only be realised if children have positive experiences.

A recent International Olympic Committee consensus statement found that between 44 per cent and 86 per cent of children experience interpersonal violence in sport environments this includes bullying, sexism, racism, homophobia, and sexual abuse.

New research has raised questions about the current approaches to stopping abuse in children’s sport and has highlighted the role local councils can play in problematic behaviour.

Lead researcher from Melbourne's Monash University Dr Erik Denison has spent over a decade studying ways to stop discrimination and abuse in sport in Australia and New Zealand. He Joins Jesse.

Jesse and Forest and Bird's Chief Executive Nicola Toki talk about this large stonefly. It is a beautiful green colour, although they have colour variation as some yellow adults are also found. The nymphs of this stonefly are aquatic, living in cold stony streams and rivers of native bush throughout New Zealand. They are especially sensitive to water pollution and sedimentation, and their presence is usually an indicator of high water quality. As such, scientists often use their presence and distribution for bio-monitoring.
