1:15 Wildlife harassing walkers leads to a track closure in Wellington

In Miramar a pair of nesting Karearea - A.K.A New Zealand Falcon - have taken to harassing walkers and their pets on a local trail.

In response Wellington council has temporarily closed a section of the Signaller's Grove walkway.

Maybe they're just trying to defend their nests, and claim a bit of peace and quiet, or maybe, its a very late 'Bird of the Century' PR Campaign.

Today marks the start of the five day Hindu festival Diwali.

Known as the festival of lights it symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

There are over 100,000 Hindus across Aotearoa. That makes it our second largest religion. But despite that a lot of us don't know much more about it than the fireworks and food.
