This week’s critter is a native Glow-in-the-dark Mushroom.

Last year, the annual Fungal Foray was held on Rakiura Stewart Island. While hunting around in the forest at night, keen amateur and professional mycologists made an exciting discovery about one of our native fungi.

A normal looking mushroom by day, the tiny pink Mycena roseoflava glows at night with a ghostly blue-green light.
