Race Across America is an ultra endurance cycling event that starts in California and finishes in Maryland on the East Coast. Two hundred and fifty men and women from 17 countries took part in the race just a few weeks ago. Joshua Kench from Wellington was among the racers.
2:20 Former sled racing dogs retire to Nelson
Two former world class sled racing dogs, Joseph and Helene, have retired in Mapua near Nelson. Both dogs have competed in the Iditarod Great Sled Race, which covers 1850 kilometres across Alaska and the 1000km Finnmark Race in northern Norway.
