The Fiji Rugby Union is set on building a multi-purpose international standard stadium, a hotel and a new headquarters at a piece of land they are now working to secure close to the Nadi International Airport.
The union's board chairman John Sanday said they have lodged their application for a 60-acre block of land on Saweni Beach Road in Lautoka.
He said the project will get its initial funding and capital from profits made during the Flying Fijians' 'home' matches of the Nations Championship, which are being held in England, Scotland and Wales for financial reasons.
Sanday said the project aims to ensure that the facilities needed to host tier one rugby matches are in place for Fiji Rugby, looking ahead.
