Ill-discipline got the better of the 'Ikale Tahi, who were thumped 56-0 by Scotland in their only Autumn Internationals test match at Murrayfield early Monday morning.
Scotland, coming off losses to the All Blacks and Argentina, finally gave their fans something to celebrate, scoring eight tries in the clash.
An early 21-0 lead through converted tries from forwards Jamie Ritchie, George Turner and Max Williamson, set the pace for the hosts.
The tries were scored while Tonga was one man down following the red card to Semisi Paea.
Paea was yellow carded in the fifth minute for a dangerous clearout and his card was upgrade after a review.
And during the game, three more players were yellow-carded.
Lock Harison Mataele was yellow carded right on half-time, followed by wingers Taniela Filimone and Fine Inisi, who were guilty of deliberate knock-ons in the third quarter.
Head coach Tevita Tuifu'a said it was dsiappointing but added they will learn from that experience, as they move forward to preapring for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
"Disappointing that we lost that way," he said.
"We have to work on our discipline and make sure that we do not give away opportunities like that again.
"Important year for us ahead as we prepare for the World Cup."
The game was Tonga's lone test on the November tour.
