Vanuatu is mourning the death of its former Prime Minister Ham Lini Vanuaroroa at the age of 73.
He died in hospital in Port Vila on Monday, his family said.
Ham Lini spent 21 years in parliament, entering office in 1999. He led the country from 2004 to 2008.
The younger brother of the country's late 'father of independence' Walter Lini, Ham Lini is being remembered for his calm leadership, humility and dedication to public service.
A state funeral is planned for next Wednesday.
