Flying Fijians centre Iosefo Masi is in doubt for the team's November tour, after he suffered a hamstring injury during Lyon's French Top 14 clash against Pau.
FBC reported Masi has been ruled out for eight weeks.
Masi joined Lyon two months ago, after playing for the Fijian Drua in the Super Rugby Pacific competiton for the last four years.
He was selected for the Flying Fijians in 2023.
Rugby league
A number of top NRL players have been ruled out of representing their countries of origin at the upcoming Pacific Championships.
Toa Samoa's Stephen Crichton has been ruled out with an ankle injury.
Dolphins superstar Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow will also miss representing Samoa due to injury.
Tonga duo Haumole Olakau'atu and Taniela Paseka are also out.
The Pacific Championships kick off on 18 October.
Rugby league
Roosters fullback James Tedesco and Brisbane fullback Tamika Upton have won their respective Dally M Player of the Year awards at the NRL end of season celebrations.
Warriors players Erin Clark and Payton Takimoana were named in their respective NRL Teams of the Year.
Cricket
The Papua New Guinea Barramundis cricketers head off to Oman for a Twenty20 World Cup qualifier after playing two warm-up matches in Brisbane.
The Post-Courier reported the side scored a thrilling two-run victory over a Queensland XI, and a seven-wicket win over the Queensland PC XI.
The Barramundis will compete at the qualifier from 8 - 17 October.
Samoa is the other Pacific team that will be competing for a T20 world cup spot in Oman.
Cycling
Tonga is the 206th member of the international cycling body - the Union Cycliste Internationale.
At the institution's 2025 Congress, representatives voted in favour of affiliating the National Federation of the Kingdom of Tonga.
The Congress also awarded the UCI Merit to five people, including British multi-world champion Sir Mark Cavendish, and Burundi's Sandra Kinyomvyi, who has helped develop programmes for young riders and promote women in cycling.
