League

Dolphins flyer Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow has been ruled out of playing for Samoa in rugby league's Pacific Championships next month.

Tabuai-Fidow - known as 'Hammer' - suffered an MCL tear in the Dolphins' win over Canberra earlier this month.

ABC reported the Dolphins saying he was preparing to reunite with Samoa, but is expected to be ruled out for approximately eight weeks.

Cricket

Papua New Guinea has won the final of the East Asia Pacific T20 cricket qualifier in Suva.

PNG defeated Vanuatu by nine wickets, reaching the run chase total with 29 balls remaining.

Vanuatu had scored 113 runs.

The win means PNG now moves to the next round of qualifying for next year's women's Twenty20 World Cup.

Netball

The four Pasifika teams at the upcoming Netball Youth World Cup in Gibraltar will be taking on some of the best in the world.

Fiji Baby Pearls head coach Simone Nalatu said her side has a practice match against Wales before starting their campaign.

In pool D they have matches against South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Malawi.

Cook Islands are in pool A with New Zealand, Gilbraltar, Zambia and Malaysia; while Samoa will face Australia, Scotland, Singapore and Northern Ireland in pool B.

Tonga, in pool C, have matches against Jamaica, England, Wales, and Sri Lanka.

Futsal

Oceania women's champions New Zealand are in a tough pool C at the first FIFA Futsal Women's World Cup.

The side have been drawn with world number three-ranked team Portugal, fifth-ranked Japan and Tanzania.

The tournament will kick off on 21 November in Manila.

New Zealand's first match against Japan on 23 November.
