Football - Olympic qualifiers
Tournament favourites New Zealand have made a winning start to their Oceania men's Olympic Qualifier campaign with a 3-1 victory over Fiji in Auckland.
Three goals in a six-minute period midway through the first half did the damage for the Kiwis who are through to the semi-finals as Group A winners.
Aporosa Yada got one back for Fiji on the 50th minute.
Fiji now play Papua New Guinea on Saturday - assuming PNG has overcome the visa issues that prevented it from travelling to New Zealand for their first scheduled game against the host nation.
That gave New Zealand a 3-0 win by forfeit.
Football - Solomons striker
Solomon Islands football star Raphael Lea'i is set to leave his Bosnian club due to being reportedly homesick and getting little game time.
Oceania Football Center says it has confirmed with Velez Mostar that the striker has told them he wants to leave.
Lea'i has been in the country since the beginning of the year, and has played in 13 matches, scoring twice and providing two assists.
This season Lea'i - the first Solomon Islander to sign a professional contract in Europe - has played only two matches and was left out of the squad for their latest game.
RWC2023 - Tonga squad
France-based Halaleva Fifita has been named Tonga's 33rd player for the Rugby World Cup in France.
Head coach Toutai Kefu named only 32 players originally.
Fifita rejoins the squad after having played for the 'Ikale Tahi during the July Test series against Fiji, Japan and Samoa.
He will also rejoin brother and former All Black Vaea Fifita in the squad.
RWC2023 - Fiji
The Flying Fijians rugby team, in London preparing for the Rugby World Cup, are partnering with their major sponsor Fiji Water in a challenge to raise funds for children suffering from cancer in Fiji.
Team trainer Nacanieli Cawanibuka said in a statement the team management and players have started the "London to Bordeaux" Cardio Challenge, aimed at maintaining players' fitness, boosting morale, and engaging public support in helping children with cancer.
He said the goal is to raise funds and awareness for the 'Wow's Kids program' in Suva, adding that it is a great opportunity for the team to connect back to its people and also to assist children and their families who are battling cancer.
Fiji - eligibility
Changes to Fiji's Immigration Act mean more people can represent the nation in sporting codes.
Fijian Sports Minister Jese Saukuru told local media this allows anyone lodged in Registration of Native Births to enter, reside, and work in Fiji without a permit or visa.
Saukuru said Fiji should be allowing people that have even maternal links to Fiji to represent the country.
However, the Pacific Games Council has clarified that Fijians wanting to compete in the Pacific Games must hold a Fiji passport.
Council president Vidya Lakhan said participation at the Games will only be allowed if an athlete holds the passport of the country he or she wants to represent, along with other requirements.
