The Fiji Under-19s cricket team beat Indonesia by one run at the Mararra Cricket ground in Darwin, Australia on Tuesday, in the ICC Under-19 East Asia Pacific Qualifier.

It was Fiji's second win from as many matches and the game went to the wire as Fiji had to hang on to win after opting to bat first.

Fiji scored 112 runs to Indonesia's 111.

Papua New Guinea, who lost their opening game to Fiji on Monday, beat Samoa by 104 runs.

Tennis - Marianas

A Northern Marianas tennis player has earned her second All-American honour in the US.

Carol Lee, who plays at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, led Georgia Tech from the No.1 singles position all season, compiling a 29-wins, 12-losses singles record.

She earned an individual bid to the NCAA Singles Championship and a top-16 seeding, which clinched her All-American status.

League - Hunters

The PNG Hunters league team thrashed the Western Clydesdales 40-4 to record their fifth win of the Hostplus Cup on Saturday.

The Hunters put on a masterclass attacking display in the round 13 fixture, which saw them produce seven tries with Tommy Moide, Brandon Nima, Joshua Lau, Philemon Kimisive, Sanny Wabo, Morea Morea Jnr and Rodrick Tai all crossing over.

The Hunters lead 16-0 at half-time.

Fijian Drua hooker, Tevita Ikanivere, has claimed the top award at the team's inaugural awards ceremony.

FBC reports Ikanivere received a plaque, certificate, and $US500 US \ as the recipient of the Head Coach's Award.

He was also given the Dausoko award, for a player who reflects everything the Fijian Drua is about.

Other winners at the Drua's team awards included prop Mesake Doge, wing Selestino Ravutaumada, centre Iosefo Masi, and lock Isoa Nasilasila.

The Try of the Year was won by captain Meli Derenalagi, the Personal Development Award was given to Mesake Doge, while the Commercial Champion Award went to Simione Kuruvoli.

Rugby - Fiji

The Australian Deaf Rugby team is aiming to grow the game in Fiji, after their recent success at the Deaf Rugby World Cup in May.

The Aussie men went down to heavyweights Wales in the final, whilst the women finished third.

Australian head coach David Kearsey travelled to Fiji for a two-day training with their Fijian counterparts.

Kearsey was joined by Wallabies legends Radike Samo and Lote Tuqiri as part of last month's 'Vuvale Week', designed to celebrate the rugby bond between the two countries.
