The latest report from the Cook Islands government shows 11,040 of its target population of 11,409 have now had both jabs of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine.

The Cook Islands are currently at alert level 2 and the travel bubble with New Zealand has been suspended since New Zealand went into a nationwide lockdown almost a week ago.

There has been rapid testing in the Cook Islands to check if one of the thousands of New Zealand tourists who have visited the country in recent weeks may have brought in the virus.

According to the latest situation report 1934 tests for Covid-19 have been conducted and all have returned negative results.

Testing and surveillance continues in the Cook Islands while outbound travel for New Zealanders wishing to return home continues as scheduled.
