Tomasi Vunicagi was last seen about 5pm on Tuesday 10 August at an address on Sturt Street, in the Sydney suburb of Kingsford.

The 28 year-old centre featured in 10 of the Silktails 13 matches in the Ron Massey Cup, including their final match on 24 June before the competition was abandoned because of Covid-19.

Vunicagi was reported missing to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command last Wednesday, when he was meant to fly back to Fiji with rest of the Silktails squad and did not show.

He has not been heard from since and Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to the disappearance being out of character.

A spokesperson for the New South Wales Rugby League said the Kaiviti Silktails informed the NSWRL that one of the players had not left with the team when they departed Australia last week.

"The matter is now being handled by the NSW Police and the NSWRL will be making no further comment."

A spokesperson for the Kaiviti Silktails said the NSWRL are sponsors of all the team's visas and their number one priority here is the safety and wellbeing of the player.
