The latest case was identified by travel screening in quarantine but has been moved into the designated isolation area at the Kanoa Resort Alternative Care Site.

Out of the 106 confirmed cases in the CNMI, 80 are from incoming passengers.

These include 39 from the US mainland, 30 from Guam and 11 from foreign countries.

Meanwhile health authorities said they would aim for 100 percent vaccination coverage when they receive the expected Pfizer vaccine.

However, authorities said that may not be achievable because some could refuse to be vaccinated so they would settle for 95 percent or around 50,000 residents.

70 percent coverage is reportedly needed to create herd immunity.
