A proposed development project featuring what could be the country's first casino, has been launched in Fiji.
Expressions of interest have been sought for the project valued at between $US24 million and $US38m.
The developer, Lodhias, said response to the expressions of interest has been overwhelming.

The Fiji Sun reported company spokesperson Deemant Lodhia had said discussions were held with equity and operational partners from the United States, India, China and the United Arab Emirates.
Lodhia said the tower is expected to have nine to 12 levels, with construction alone set to employ at least 500 locals.
Architects of the development are based in India, he said, adding the expression of interest was published in the local media.
Lodhia said the value of the project hinged on government approval for a casino and medical facility.
The project is expected to be completed within a two to four-year period, he said.
Waimanu Road in Suva has been earmarked as the site for the tower.
"The idea was developed over the past 10 to 15 years, concurrently with other projects world-wide including an apartment hotel complex in Rajkot, India," Lodhia told the Fiji Sun.
"Due to Fiji's Covid-19 contained status and ongoing improvements in its investment climate, we have decided to gauge the local interest for such a project as market conditions are becoming favourable for new business."
A casino is planned for an unrelated resort on Malolo Island, although that development is under a legal cloud.
