Fiji has confirmed two new cases of Covid-19 in border quarantine.

The Health Ministry said the latest patients were two men aged 55 and 22 .

The Health Secretary James Fong said the pair arrived on a repatriation flight from India on 27 August.

Fiji now has five active Covid cases - all in border quarantine.

Questions were raised this week after five passengers on the same flight tested positive after arriving in Christchurch, New Zealand

New Zealand's Health Ministry said the five new cases had stayed at an isolation hotel in New Delhi for three days before their flight - and were all tested before being allowed on the plane.

The five travelled from India via Fiji, landing in Christchurch late on 27 August.

Dr Fong said there was no threat to the public as the Christchurch-bound passengers did not leave the terminal in Nadi.
