A senior police officer in Fiji has appeared in court charged with abuse of office.

Mohammed Talib Khan is director of Internal Affairs and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In April 2017, then an acting Senior Superintendent, Khan's alleged to have ordered the unlawful arrest and detention of an individual in abuse of the authority of his office and which was an arbitrary act.
He was bailed on a $US1,407 bond with two sureties.

CCTV footage submitted in case looking at remand prisoner's death
Meanwhile in a separate case, closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage surrounding the death of a remand prisoner have been been submitted to the High Court.
Jone Masirewa died at the Lautoka corrections facility earlier this year.
Four former Corrections officers have been implicated in his death.
In the Lautoka court, the State also submitted post-mortem examination photographs as part of the crown's case against Onisimo Raboiliku, Semesa Bulikalougata, Navitalai Kanavo and Suliasi Tubuna - all accused of causing Masirewa's death.
The prosecution also applied for more time to file pre-trial conference documents.
Raboiliku and Bulikalougata both face a count each of murder and assault causing actual bodily harm, while Kanavo and Tubuna are accused of the lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.
Masirewa, 39, of Natokowaqa in Lautoka, died as a result of severe traumatic abdominal injuries, severe traumatic chest injuries and severe haemoperitoneum.
Bail was extended to the accused.
The case has been adjourned to 15 September.
