PNG courthouse closed by Covid-19

Part of Papua New Guinea's National Court in Port Moresby will be closed for a week after it was established a woman, who tested positive for Covid-19, had visited the court house.

The National newspaper reported Papua New Guinea's 11th case of the coronavirus, a 26-year-old lawyer, had been in court room one in the Waigani building on 19 June.

Court registrar Ian Augerea said the building was being partially closed for deep cleaning.

He said court officials who may have come into contact with the lawyer were being tested.

Anyone visiting the courthouse was now required to wear a mask, sanitise their hands and maintain social distancing.
