Suspended lawyer in Samoa fined over assault

A suspended Samoa lawyer has been fined about $US360 for assaulting his ex-wife and daughter during a domestic dispute in 2016.

The Samoa Observer reports Pa'u Tafaogalupe Mulitalo was found guilty in the Family Violence court last year.

A co-defendant, Sala Tuiletufuga Tavita, was also been found guilty of assault and using insulting words.

The lawyer is also facing a separate charge of obtaining by deception which is currently before the Supreme Court.
