Two people are dead in the Northern Marianas after a three day hostage crisis ended in tragedy overnight.
Gordon Aldan Castro had taken his girlfriend hostage on Monday shortly after police tried to arrest him.

The arrest warrant was connected to Mr Castro allegedly taking family members hostage in 2015.
Police stormed Mr Castro's barricaded house at about 3am, prompting him to fire multiple shots at the officers.
In the ensuing shootout, both Mr Castro and his hostage were killed.
Officials from the Department of Public Safety and police are investigating.
