The Saipan Tribune reports Ralph Torres has hired former special agent Jeremy Wolfe, who is also currently a private investigator for Rota Mayor Efraim Atalig who is facing corruption charges along with his partner, Evelyn Atalig.

Mr Torres has also reportedly hired New York-based Patrick Smith, a former federal prosecutor in the CNMI, as his counsel relating to the ongoing FBI probe.

The probe is looking into multiple possible violations of federal laws that allegedly involve Mr Torres' family and the company, Imperial Pacific International, which is building a casino resort on Saipan.

The investigation has resulted in a number of search warrants being actioned across Saipan.
