Beijing Sports University is offering five scholarships to Fijian athletes in a bid to encourage international enrolments.

The university is considered to be one of the finest sports universities in China with its success attributed to an emphasis on research in sports medicine and science.
The so-called 'Belt & Road' scholarships are being offered in three categories; bachelors, masters and doctorate.
Students who are not fluent in Chinese will be sponsored to study Mandarin for a year.
The vice president of the Beijing Sports University, Mr Lunhao Xia, made the announcement during a recent meeting with Fiji's sports minister Parveen Kumar.
Mr Kumar thanked the university for the generous offer and said his ministry was committed to the implementation of the scholarships in the New Year.
