That comes after Fiji's Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama launched the e-Passport unit at the Fiji High Comission in London on Saturday.

Mr Bainimarama said the UK was a fitting location to issue Fiji's passports.

"With this facility, those of you living in the UK and in nearby countries will no longer have to make the journey back to Fiji to obtain or renew a passport.

"That can now happen right here. In the coming weeks, these same services will be made available across our foreign missions."
