There has been a fatal diving accident in French Polynesia.

Local television reported that the 47-year-old head of a diving business on Tikehau died shortly after being flown to Tahiti.
Reports said he was diving with friends at a depth of more than 70 metres but when he resurfaced he was ill.
It's not known if he encountered problems while diving.
A police investigation has been opened.
