Media in Tahiti said this was raised by a visiting delegation from Vanuatu which included the airline's board chairman as well as the board chairman of Vanuatu Airports Limited.

The delegation was met by the minister in charge of inter-island aviation Jean-Christophe Bouissou.

The Vanuatu delegation reportedly wanted to learn about the technicalities of managing airports of which French Polynesia has 43.

The talks also allowed for Air Tahiti to share its experiences with the latest ATR turboprop aircraft.
