No print edition of newspapers in French Polynesia until next week

There will be no print edition of French Polynesia's daily newspapers until next week.

La Depeche has been the only local daily newspaper for sale since 2014 when the territory's oldest newspaper Nouvelles de Tahiti ceased publication after 57 years.

Tahiti-infos and La Depeche are awaiting a shipment of paper from New Zealand this week.

It's not immediately clear what caused the supply problem.

The printing shop for the two papers should be restocked for Monday's edition to be issued as usual.

Both papers have apologised to their readers and asked them to get their news on their websites and Facebook pages.
