Samoa have joined Papua New Guinea the only undefeated teams after day two of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Regional Qualifier in Port Vila.
Captain Regina Lill'i and Lelia Bourne both scored 47 runs in an opening stand of 96 as Samoa chased down Japan's 119 all out inside 16 overs in their morning match-up.
Despite a comprehensive nine wicket win, Lill'i said they rode their luck a bit at the crease.
"I was quite lucky, I could have had one dropped catch, and I think we were a little bit lucky in some of the run-outs but again that's cricket so you've got to take your chances and run with it," she said.
"We had a pretty good gameplan - she was obviously the big hitter and I was just trying to rotate the strike to her and I think it worked out alright. We were quite happy with 96 - if we'd gotten to 100 it would have been nicer but we'll take 96, especially when you come away with a win."

Backing up in the afternoon, Regina Lill'i top-scored again with 28 not out as Samoa overhauled Indonesia's 55 for 6 with nine wickets and two overs to spare to make it three wins from three for the tournament.
"I had the Duckworth Lewis totals in my pocket so I knew we were always ahead and once it got to five overs I was pretty confident that if it did pour down we were just sort of still playing our game, just doing the basics, trying to build a partnership."
Meanwhile, the defending champions Papua New Guinea thrashed Fiji by 10 wickets to maintain their perfect record, dismissing the Blues for just 23 runs and chasing down their target in 3.1 overs.
Ravina Oa starred with the ball for the Lewas with figures of 4 for 4 in 3.1 overs, with no Fijian batter managing to score more than five runs.
Hosts Vanuatu also registered their first win of the tournament with a 63 run victory over Fiji in another afternoon clash affected by the weather.
Opener Valenta Langiatu smashed 50 off 27 balls as Vanuatu racked up 121 for 3 from their 13 overs before restricting Fiji to 75 for 8 in reply.
Today is a rest day for all six teams, with the eventual winners to advance to the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier in Scotland later this year, and the Women's 50 over World Cup Qualifier to be held in 2020.
