About 1,000 police officers will be in Papua New Guinea's capital next week for the return of Parliament.
The oppositon is planning to file a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill.
In the past three weeks, several senior MPs have defected from Mr O'Neill's governing coalition.
