New Zealand's University of Otago has teamed up with the National University of Samoa to offer online lectures for medical students in Samoa.
The NUS vice chancellor Fui Asofou So'o said this development comes five years after the establishment of the School of Medicine.
Professor So'o said the School of Medicine started in 2014 and taught its first class in 2015.
He said a Faculty of Health Science that brought in nurses was launched in 2017.
He said for the first time they will have full-time teaching staff, which is made possible with the assistance of other institutions, such as the Otago Medical School.
