Fiji is hoping Norway can help it develop its fisheries sector.

Last week, the non-resident Norwegian ambassador, Paul Gulleik Larsen, was in Suva to present his credentials.

The Fiji government said it had had links with Norway for more than 40 years and the key areas of collaboration between the two countries were marine resources development, climate change and peacekeeping.

It said given Norway's leading role as a producer and exporter of seafood, Fiji hoped it could pursue development cooperation between the two countries in the fisheries sector.
