Fiji sends livestock to Tonga

Fiji has exported pigs, goats and sheep to Tonga at the request of the Tonga Government.

The stock, 10 pigs, 50 sheep and 100 goats from eight Fiji farms were exported, earning $US83,175.

The Fiji director Animal Health and Production Avinesh Dayal said farmers were chosen for the export based on their good farming management practices.

It is the second time that Fiji has sent livestock to Tonga.

It has also exported animals to Samoa.
