The New Zealand Defence Force is helping transport about 230 kilogrammes of books and uniforms donated by an Auckland school for a primary school in Papua New Guinea.
The Acting Air Component Commander Daniel Hunt says a Royal New Zealand Air Force Hercules on a scheduled flight to the Pacific, was delivering the donated supplies to Port Moresby today.

Group Captain Daniel Hunt said books were an important resource for learning and they awe pleased they could help hundreds of PNG children access resources.
Marina View School principal Maurice Young said his school donated uniforms, math resources, journals and pencils to Onamuna Community School in PNG's Eastern Highlands province.
"We understand that the school doesn't have access to a lot of teaching resources and does not have Internet, so we hope giving them the hard-copy teaching resources would benefit the children," Mr Young said.
"We are boxing up more journals and teaching resources and hope to ship them over."
Onamuna Community School is a primary school for students from grades 3 to 5.
The school opened in 2017 and has about 250 students.
