Prominent PNG businessman given Samoan title

Papua New Guinea businessman, Sir Kostas Constantinou, has been given a Samoan chiefly title, Tulaniu-o-Atua Kostas.

Tulaniu-o-Atua Kostas is the chairman of Bank of South Pacific and the owner of the Lamana Group which includes the Taumeasina Island Resort in Samoa.

He is also chair of Air Nuigini.

The Samoa Observer said the ceremony in the village of Lepa was led by Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi.

Tuila'epa commended Tulaniu-o-Atua Kostas for his contribution to the economy of Samoa and providing jobs for Samoans.
