Papua New Guinea's national airline, Air Niugini, has deferred plans to fly direct to Shanghai.
The airline announced just last week that direct flights twice a week would start today.
But the Post Courier reports the airline now saying that because of APEC, the holiday rush and an expected increase in demand on existing domestic and international routes, Air Niugini is deferring the Shanghai flights.
The airline said it would review the introduction of the China flights at a later date.
