Sport: Fiji's Drua focused on turning table on Vikings

The Fijian Drua rugby coach, Seniruisi Seruvakula, says his team needs to win against the Canberra Vikings this weekend to consolidate their position at the top of the NRC table.

The Drua have performed well this year, dropping just one game to Queensland Country in round three.

This week they take on the Canberra Vikings in Lautoka, a team they lost to in 66-5 in 2017.

"[The] Vikings, it is a very strong team and we are not going to underestimate them. But we need to prepare well, prepare well on the process. We really need a win badly so we can still have the position as the first in the competition," Seruvakula said.

He said the bad weather had impacted their game plan last year but they would not let the same thing happen twice.

"There was no excuse last year. We know that it was the weather but we need to focus on the job ahead when we go onto the field," Seruvakula said.

"That is one thing we are going to face this week, the barrier of having bad weather here in Fiji."

"We just need to start well and keep our momentum so they don't disrupt the consistency of how they want to play or not," he said.
