Organisers of the Fiji International hope a new "Bucks for Birdies" promotion will provide a windfall for the next generation of golfing stars.
Ten Fijian dollars will be donated for every birdie scored throughout the tournament to Fiji's Ministry of Education, which will be shared among six schools in the local area around the Natadola Bay Championship Course.

The General Manager of Tournament and Event Operations, Natalie McIlroy, said they hope it proves lucrative.
"Judging on previous years number of birdies we're expecting there to be about 1300 to 1400 birdies," he said.
"Which would mean around $FJ13,000 to $FJ14,000 that will be donated to local schools in the area to put towards education resources or some new sporting equipment and things like that.
"I think it will be a unique way for the schools in the area to really become involved in the event and want to follow the scores of the players, and also allow us to give something back to the community."
The fifth edition of the Fiji International tees off on Thursday, with Australian Jason Norris the defending champion and major winners Vijay Singh and Ernie Els the headline names.
