A Fiji national rugby sevens player Isake Katonibau has been charged with serious assault and remanded in custody.
Fiji Village reports he is alleged to have assaulted a police officer on Sunday after the officer came across a group of men fighting in Suva.
Katonibau is alleged to have punched the officer twice in the mouth.
The case has been adjourned until Monday.
