The global malaria community is urging Commonwealth leaders to commit to halve malaria across the Commonwealth within the next five years.

They say this would prevent 350 million cases of malaria and save 650,000 lives, predominantly children and pregnant women who are the most at risk.
The call has come at the Malaria Summit today being held in London, which is being co-hosted by the governments of Rwanda, Swaziland and the United Kingdom.
This summit comes of the eve of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting because the Commonwealth and its citizens account for more than half of all global cases and deaths, but just one third of the world's population.
There are hopes that significant commitments from governments, businesses and philanthropists will catalyse progress towards the goal of halving malaria.
