The Northern Marianas and Guam have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which aims to strengthen the two territories' relationship.
The Marianas Variety reports the CNMI Governor Ralph Torres met the Guam Governor and Lieutenant Governor to sign the agreement on the neighboring island this week.
Mr Torres says it's the first time that they've signed an MOU to deal with issues such as economic growth and free trade.
He says he will also be working with his Guam counterpart Eddie Calvo and his administration on issues related foreign work visas and permits and labouyr shortages.
