Sport: New Caledonia on target at Mini Games

New Caledonia continues to hit their targets at the Pacific Mini Games after adding to their gold medal tally in archery and athletics.

The French Territory's archers won gold in the mixed compound and mixed recurve, while at Korman Stadium Erwan Cassier threw his hammer 57.05m and Florian Geffrouais vaulted his pole 4.00m to increase their overall tally to 41 gold and 64 medals in all.

Papua New Guinea have also won 64 medals over the past week and a half but only 26 of those have been gold.

Rellie Kaputin added her second of the week in the women's triple jump, while Poro Gahekave led home a Team PNG 1-2-3 finish in the women's 3000m steeplechase.

Benjamin Aliel won gold in the men's 400m, with Fiji's Miriama Senokonoko taking the women's title.

Fiji also did the double in the men's and women's 4x100m relays.

Tereapii Tapoki from the Cook Islands continued her regional dominance in the women's discus and Vanuatu's Simon Charley won his second gold medal of the week in the men's 3000m steeplechase.
