Tahiti strike action forces Air France to again use another carrier

Air France has replaced more of its Tahiti flights with a Portuguese carrier because of strike action.

The French Polynesian-based flight attendants are in their second week of a strike which has made it impossible for the airline to carry passengers.

Air France is therefore today continuing to use an Airbus chartered from the airline Hi Fly of Portugal for its service between Los Angeles and Tahiti.

Last week, Air France failed with its court bid in Papeete to annul the strike.

It also warned that continued strike action might prompt it to abandon Tahiti as a destination.
