The carrier has been forced to fly its planes out of Tahiti without passengers since late last week because it failed to get the minimum number of cabin staff to operate.

Air France went to court, claiming urgency and saying it wasn't given a proper strike notice.

According to Radio 1, the court rejected the case, saying challenging the form of the strike notice doesn't constitute an urgent matter.

It also reported that the strike notice was delivered well in advance.

Air France has leased Air Tahiti Nui planes to fly its passengers out of Tahiti.

It also warned that continued strike action might prompt it to abandon Tahiti as a destination.
